Presentation of the + Trees Foundation

Maderas Nobles de la Sierra de Segura S.A. (Noble Woods from Sierra de Segura), a company devoted to the sustainable arboriculture for quality wood production and to the preservation and restoration of the environment, after seven years of work decided to constitute the Fundación Más Árboles (More Trees Foundation) to guide and to develop their social action through it and to extend the number of beneficiaries of their activities.

The More Trees Foundation was born with the objective to impel a new culture of the tree that contributes to a change of attitude in the relation with our environment.

Conscious of the fact that planting and keeping trees constitutes, together with the reduction of CO2 emissions, one of the basic pillars of personal and collective actions to counteract the consequences of global warming due to the increase of the greenhouse effect produced by the human activities, the More Trees Foundation considers promotion, support, advice, management and funding of any serious and viable initiatives in all the possible areas resulting in the plantation and maintenance of trees, as its main objectives.

In order to stimulate the personal and social consciousness concerning ecological responsibility matters, the More Trees Foundation will organize courses, seminaries, meetings and congresses. It also will collaborate in the edition and distribution of informative, divulging and teaching materials.

The More Trees Foundation will contact companies, individuals, organizations and associations of local, national and international scope in order to create and to develop collaboration ways.

The More Trees Foundation is committed to work as an ethical, efficient and non-bureaucratized organization which optimizes its resources for the achievement of its goals, providing itself with internal and external control mechanisms and a behaviour code. Furthermore, it thanks for and accepts the offer made by the founding company, Maderas Nobles de la Sierra de Segura S.A, to be set up as the ethical supervisor for their activities.

The More Trees Foundation appears with the following initiatives:

• Call and organization of the First International Meeting 'Friends of the Trees', held in Barcelona on June, 23rd 2007 .
• "One Hundred Million Trees in the Iberian Peninsula" Campaign, a green barrier to stop the desertification of our landscapes.
• Preparation of the First International Congress for Friends of the Trees in 2008.
